Dr. Arin Davidson-Stevens, Psy.D.

Dr. Arin Davidson-Stevens earned her doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago.  Arin has worked with Highland Park Psychological Services since February of 2020.  She currently provides therapy for all ages, young children to adults, specializing in anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders.

Arin completed her doctoral internship at Bridgeview/Challenger Therapeutic Day School in Niles, IL, where she treated children and  adolescents facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and autism spectrum disorders, among others.  She worked with families and parents collaboratively and provided group therapy to teens as well.

Arin received training at Erie Neighborhood House in Chicago and Omni Youth Services in Arlington Heights, providing therapy to children ages 3-18. At Omni Youth Services, Arin also provided group therapy to teens facing addiction.  She completed her psychological assessment externship at Jewish Children’s Bureau (now Jewish Children and Family Services) where she administered a wide variety of both psychoeducational and psycho emotional tests to children and adolescents.

Arin uses a psychodynamic approach, with a focus on identifying and altering maladaptive patterns of behavior and thinking to effect positive change. Arin also incorporates cognitive-behavioral techniques, behavioral and play therapy for younger children, as well as experiential techniques coupled with family systems theoretical approaches when possible.  Arin believes in incorporating as many external factors, such as family and school, as possible to provide the most in depth care to individuals and to maintain positive change and well-being for the individual.
