Heather Kainz, LCPC

I know that taking the first step in any life change is challenging but I am here to help you on your wellness journey. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor who has been practicing since 2016. I obtained a Master’s degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree from Quincy University in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. My professional background involves working with clients of all age ranges including children, adolescents, teens, and adults. I have also provided therapy services to those involved in the criminal justice system. I have extensive experience working with individuals of all ages with a variety of mental health needs and backgrounds.

I believe that therapy should focus on you and your individual needs and stressors. To help my client’s reach their goals and improve their quality of life, I utilize an integrative, individualized, strength based, holistic, and culturally sensitive approach to therapy. This helps me create a non-judgmental, warm, and affirming environment to help clients feel validated and heard. I utilize a variety of modalities to help magnify your strengths and help reach your goals. These include CBT, DBT, and positive psychology.

I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and work with individuals needing assistance with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, stress management, boundary work, communication, mood regulation, anger management, grief and loss, interpersonal relationships, identity exploration, and life transitions. I also have experience treating substance use issues and co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.

If you are ready to set aside some time to focus on yourself or receive the support and validation you deserve, I encourage you to reach out and schedule a phone consultation.
